3. How and why we use your information
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to an enquiry, preparing an estimate and arranging a survey | Taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to prospective customers |
| Designing, supplying, installing and supporting your system | Performance of our contract with you |
| Customer service, quality control, safety, fraud prevention and improving our services | Our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business and delivering a reliable service |
| Accounting, tax, certification, consumer protection and regulatory requirements | Compliance with legal obligations |

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on your privacy and do not use your information where your rights and interests override ours. You can object to direct marketing at any time.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. How long we keep information and how we protect it
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. We consider whether an enquiry became a customer relationship, the duration of warranties and aftercare, legal and accounting duties, complaint or claim periods, and whether continued retention is necessary and proportionate. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it securely.
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for their work.

- delete your information;
- restrict or object to our use of it;
- provide information in a portable format; or
- stop using your information for direct marketing.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You can always object to direct marketing, and we will stop using your information for that purpose.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
